We're Hiring!

About Opus Affair

Opus Affair connects people who are interested in the arts. In addition to hosting monthly meetups and building an online community of people involved in the arts, we have a consulting team that works directly with arts organizations on building their own communities, through marketing and patron services projects. Our team values flexibility, hospitality and customer service, project management skills, creative and analytical thinking, taking initiative, and—above all else—a desire to listen and understand the needs of members of our community.

Currently, we're looking for:

  1. Freelance Creatives: Graphic Designers, Photographers, Videographers, Writers, etc.
  2. Interns

Internships

Description

We're always happy to connect with curious, dedicated students who want to gain useful experience in marketing and patron services. Because we value cross-discipline interests and flexibility, we like to customize internship opportunities when the right person comes along. That being said, they typically involve the following areas:

  • Creativity: Are you a writer, graphic designer, videographer, photographer, or just all over social media? We can give opportunities to create with specific goals and audiences in mind.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Do you love crunching numbers to look for insights to guide decisions? Do you like spending time in databases and spreadsheets? We have lots of interesting data to dig into.
  • Organization and Communication: Do you love making to-do lists and then crossing things off? Do you frequently end up as the team leader for your group projects in school? We can help you learn more about project management software, client relations, and planning concerns of different kinds of arts organizations.

If one of those bullets speaks to you, then you should apply. If two or three do, then you really should apply.

Qualifications

  • Excellent and clear communication skills online and in person
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and Google Docs
  • Demonstrated interest in the Boston arts scene

Expectations

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in the Greater Boston area

How to Apply

Send an email team@opusaffair.com with your resume and cover letter, including the title of the position in the subject of your email. We invite you to Tweet to @opusaffair to share something unrelated to your application (a link to an article or event that you are excited about, for example). And to really make sure you’re reading every detail we’ve included in this post, be sure to use the term “data-driven” somewhere in your cover letter. Please note: while we have specific requirements listed for a position, we are interested in potential as much as experience.
